An update was released on the 15th of September including a few new features and a nomber of bug corrections. Updates have been made in both Learning Portal and the other Learnify tools.
In Learning Portal, the following is new:
- There has been an intermittent problem where in some cases progress in the portal was not updated correctly for modules with LTI connection. To eliminate this, a routine regarding the choice of format of data that is sent has been rewritten. As this is the routine that has caused the problems, this should take care of the main issue.
We also introduced a routine that restarts the web service if a certain error occurs in the log. As the main issue most likely is solved, this should not occur, but it exists as a safety measure.
Should the web service be restarted, there will be a shorter interruption, but it is no longer than 15 seconds, so we believe that it is worth having it implemented.
In Author, the following is new:
- A new image management has been introduced in the templates. In the past, it has been difficult to upload images that are good both on computer and mobile.
The new thing is that you mark what is important and should always be visible in the image that is uploaded. The system will then select how the image is to be presented depending on the available space and the type of device used. This is so that what is important in the image must always be visible and the image must be presented in a good way in all situations. The recommendation is to choose as small a part of the image as possible for the result to be good. If you choose a very large part of the car as important, it will be difficult to always include the entire area
The following bug fixes have been made:
- The Overview image template did not show feedback when all parts were done.
- The Explore headers template showed no text in text mode.
- In the Vote template, alternatives where you can enter your own text had a different text size compared to alternatives that have a fixed text. There was a fairly small difference so most people have probably not noticed the difference.
- In the Overview image template, the clickable surfaces could end up incorrectly in height at high screen resolution and full screen mode.
- The Video template could display a Swedish text in text mode for material without subtitles.
- In the Text with image template, A text area could be displayed too large in Author if the default theme was used and the display mode was Background, Centered and Adapt. That is, the settings for instance a chapter page. In the player, this was not an issue.
- The Save / Saved indication in Author has been moved a few millimeters. Previously, it could cover the top of the scroll bar next to it.
- The Forum template. If participants were allowed to skip writing a comment and no previous comments exist, the page would not be marked as completed if the first person chose not to write a comment.
- The appearance of bulleted and numbered lists has been adjusted in Planner. Previously, they ended up outside the left column.
If someone experiences a problem, it may be a good idea to clear the browser's cache and try again before reporting the issue.
A quick way to see how to clear the cache in your browser is to go to rensacachen.nu or google "clear cache".
